So here goes:
The day after my e-bike got stolen, I started taking the bus.
“Losing” the bike was stressful. I didn’t know how I would get from point A to point B as quickly as I used to. I had made very intentional moves to adjust my life and ride my bike everywhere….for two years. I rode to work, home, farmers markets, errands, and all of my dance rehearsals. And most importantly I rode my bike to see my parents and my nephew. I sometimes used my big basket in the front of my bike to take him to the park and back home.
I can tell that it was a lot, but it was something that I enjoyed and brought me a lot of happiness.
While I created my life so that I could be on a bike almost every day, I am determined to recreate my life as beautiful as possible, in a different way.
So now I'm on a bus…and I'm walking.
I can feel how I'm just scratching the surface as I learn to follow the feelings of what needs to be expressed through me.
Dance, nutrition, fitness, moving in feminine ways, getting stronger from the inside out, writing, posting radiant rituals of whole wellness are ways that I express and serve the energy.
Is there more? I am sure there is. I don’t know where I am headed exactly but I’m showing up here.
One thing is for sure: wellness and fitness as a true lifestyle is for a lifetime.
The point is not to have short-term wins.
The point is not to win.
The point is to stay on the mat your whole life.
Quick-fixes and over emphasis on vanity, won’t allow you to see your TRUE RESILIENCE.
There will be times (like a whole year)…when you can't follow a fitness plan that you thought would "change your body." etc. but you keep going, not for the resolution, or the body you want to have but for your true resilience.
I've never been a fan of quick diets and fixes. It makes me cringe when I see it. Because the truth is you may have a year where you focus on getting sober for example, and bringing in other wellness stuff is just too much for where you’re at.
In addition to checking-in on how you’re doing in your body, you can also check-in on how you’re doing in your emotional well-being and spiritual growth.
Maybe you will have a year where you need to focus on drinking water, sleeping, and taking small walks.
It's a journey of assessing: where are you emotionally from the inside out?
It’s not about you.
It's about what your nervous system is experiencing. And your SOUL speaks through your body which is attached to your nervous system…. So you must carve out a path that is gentle and motivating for you.
This is the resilience I’m referring to.
You oversee your nervous system and in turn you see just how resilient you are.
It's a beautiful thing to prove to yourself how resilient you are.
Rituals and habits that work for HER or for HIM, not the opposite around.
You don't work for the scale or a measurement of society.
You hike, do a neighborhood walk or make something healthy for Her or for Him and express self-appreciation for the temple that carries you
You give her a nice hot bath and pamper her with a facial. Maybe you decide to take a boxing class if that's where you're at. But don’t expect to get quick results when you’ve had decades of doing NOTHING consistently to serve.
Instead of serving you were using…
I know it sucks that there's no magic pill and my way is completely counterproductive to what is out there.
But being well and fit requires deep presence, awareness and precision.
I’ve arrived to my home stop. I am making the most out of these bus adventures, until next time.. thank you for reading.
Have a beautiful weekend.
